Cleaning Our Waters - The Long Island Community Foundation

We have a new website!

Since inception, The Long Island Community Foundation has operated as an affiliate of The New York Community Trust.

As part of our centennial celebrations, we are creating a single, unified organization to more powerfully advocate for our region with one voice.

We will still maintain our physical offices in Long Island with the same dedicated staff who will continue to honor and build upon our relationships with local nonprofits and communities.

You can now find us at: https://www.thenytrust.org/long-island/

Cleaning Our Waters

Our Westchester Community Foundation (WCF) funds the Center for the Urban River to monitor the Hudson River watershed from Albany to New York City, and the Hutchinson and Saw Mill rivers. WCF also supports Hudson River water cleanups by groups such as Scenic Hudson, and in Long Island Sound by Connecticut Fund for the Environment.

The Trust and our suburban divisions supported Save the Sound, whose “Report Card” monitors water quality and biodiversity.
