field-of-interest

YOU PICK THE ISSUE. OR ISSUES.

A field-of-interest fund is a wise choice if you want to make an impact in a particular area—job training, education, or the arts. You can also create a fund to address multiple issues, or one with a specific focus, such as preserving Long Island’s drinking water.

WE HELP YOU MAKE AN IMPACT.

Our staff will use your gift to help groups that work on the issues you care about. We vet proposals, visit potential grantees, and combine your gift with others to make a bigger impact. If you establish a fund during your lifetime, we’ll report back to you on the groups you’re funding.

THE GIFT STAYS RELEVANT.

A field-of-interest fund keeps up with the times. For instance: Many of today’s pressing health problems, like widespread obesity and opioid addiction have little resemblance to those of a few decades ago, such as polio. Times change.

CASE STUDY: A FIELD-OF-INTEREST FUND TO HELP THE ELDERLY ON LONG ISLAND

The law firm Davidow & Davidow, Siegel & Stern in Islandia, specializes in elder law issues. Partner Lawrence Davidow was a member of the Long Island Community Foundation advisory board and served as its chairman. In 2007, Lawrence created the Davidow Elderly Community Assistance Fund to be used to support programs that benefit the elderly in Nassau and/or Suffolk Counties. Since then we’ve supported various programs to help the elderly on Long Island – such as delivering fresh produce to low-income seniors in New Cassel.

YOU CAN SET UP A FIELD-OF-INTEREST FUND NOW.

It’s easy. It’s a great choice for those who care about an issue and want expert guidance on the groups that make a difference.
